The National Priorities Project have put together a very cool running calculator of what we could have bought for the US if we had chosen peace over war. Makes you think pretty hard about what our government spends money on, and how shameful it’s current priorities are. Making KBR, Bechtel, and Haliburton rich while we leave our children to wallow in the dust of a future fallen and broken empire…

I just don’t understand why these neocons ignore diplomacy altogether. It really does seem that Chuck Fager’s article on militarism invading every nook and cranny becomes more pertinent every day. Do you still have that article? I think it needs to be widely publicized. Friendship will be having several forums to discuss how to resist and keep holding Quaker philosophy firm during times when holding on to the peace testimony is seen as subversive.
